GFWC Illinois Scholarships

GFWC Illinois offers a variety of scholarships to high school and college students. For 2017-2018, GFWC Illinois scholarship information is not yet available.  Stay tuned!

If you are interested in filling out an application, it must be signed by a GFWC Illinois Club President.  PJWC signed applications for all above scholarships can be found in the GFWC Illinois Scholarship Packet.

GFWC Illinois

PJWC is a Subsidiary of General Federation of Women’s Club of Illinois(GFWC-IL).  This organization is one of the largest service organizations, and PJWC is proud to be one of over 200 clubs in Illinois.

GFWC Illinois has over 200 clubs and over 6,000 members who work hard to improve their communities. GFWC Illinois clubs have 3 levels of membership: General, Junior, and Juniorette. The Juniorettes include girls age 13-18. Junior and General clubs are made up of adult women with Junior clubs typically meeting at night as a convenience for working woman, and General clubs typically meet during the day.

The General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) is an international women’s organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service.

GFWC is one of the world’s largest and oldest women’s volunteer service organizations.  Working locally through thousands of clubs in the U.S. and globally in more than 20 countries, GFWC members support the arts, preserve natural resources, promote education, encourage healthy lifestyles, stress civic involvement, and work toward world peace and understanding.

Clubs shape their local agendas to suit particular community needs.  Each local chapter benefits from membership, service, material, and program support from state and national Federation levels.  GFWC headquarters is located in Washington, D.C., and is a National Historic Landmark.
