PJWC is run by women just like you, that have a passion for giving back to our community through service.  Each year, a new board of directors is elected to ensure we are living out the PJWC mission.

Meet our 2021-22 Executive Committee

Colleen Graham

President

 Colleen has been a PJWC club member for many years.  She has served as Ways & Means chair and, this year, Colleen is thrilled to be leading the club as President.  She lives in Plainfield with her husband, Clint.  

Dana Silver

Vice President

   Dana joined PJWC shortly after moving to the Plainfield area in 2017.   She has served as Conservation Committee Chair for two years and will now serve as Vice President.  PJWC has provided an opportunity for Dana to give back to her community while developing many friendships with an amazing group of women.  She is looking forward to the upcoming year!

Beth Behland

Secretary

   Beth has been a resident of Plainfield for 24 years.  She has been a member of PJWC since 2014.  She is the mother of three children and has been married to her husband for 24 years.  PJWC has been a great experience and allowed her to meet people she wouldn’t have otherwise had the opportunity to meet, and she has made many close friends through PJWC. This is her first year on the executive committee and she is very excited to see what we will all accomplish together as a club!

Brooke Simpson

Treasurer

   Brooke started with PJWC in 2009 as a general member and has served various committee and board positions including President (2014-2015).  During her tenure with PJWC, she received the following awards: Junior of the Year (2013) and Outstanding Junior Service (2015).  In her professional life, Brooke currently works for USI Insurance Services LLC as a Premier Client Advisor.

   Brooke is originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Brooke moved to Chicago after graduate school.  She currently lives in Plainfield, IL with her daughter and is still a die-hard Cleveland sports fan, particularly, the Cleveland Indians (aka never the Guardians). 

Karyn McCarthy Charvat

Club Adviser & Founder

   Karyn serves as advisor to the club but is also PJWC’s founder. She started the club in the fall of 2008 and served as its first President until 2010, chartering the Plainfield Juniorettes later that year. She is responsible for chartering over a dozen GFWC Illinois clubs, introducing countless women to volunteer service with GFWC since 2004. 

   Karyn serves on the GFWC International Board of Directors in Washington, DC and is the GFWC Illinois Juniorettes Advisor. Professionally, she is the Executive Director of PowerForward DuPage, which represents the union electrical contracting industry in DuPage County.
